Trip to Kellie's Castle

On Friday i went back to Ipoh. Then, the next day i went to Kellie's Castle with my family which is an uncompleted huge mansion located in the town of Batu Gajah. The journey was a 25 minutes drive away from my house. I had a really good time visiting this mansion which has a great architecture. The castle consists of rooms specially designed for Kellie's son and daughter, for the guests and there was a large living room. One of the many amazing things about Kellie's Castle that i remember is that there was an elevator (it supposed to be the first in Malaya) which connects right up to the top floor;however,it was not completed.

On the second floor, Smith planned to build an indoor tennis court . On the highest floor, there is a rooftop courtyard for parties. This castle was to be the hub for entertaining wealthy colonial planters who had settled in Malaya. His house was so unique. I wish i could own a beautiful mansion like the castle as well...hehehe. There were secret tunnels too, one of which leads to the Hindu temple through the Kinta River. Unfortunately, this tunnels had now been sealed for safety reason and i did not get a chance to go through the tunnels. I should have went a few years earlier as the authorities still allowed visitors to go through the tunnels before this .Hmm...to bad. Besides, the panaromic view of the surroundings can be seen from the top of the mansion. The castle is being surrounded by the Kinta River. The latest discovery of this place is the tree that grows to resemble "a bear hugging a tree" at the compound of the castle which can be seen clearly .

I would like to recommend all my friends to visit this elegant and classic looking castle. The entry ticket just cost about RM4 . It is really worth it as you can get to see the great design of the building. I had enjoyed my weekend very much as this was the place i always wanted to go but never had a chance to do so . At last i went there yesterday. It was like a dream come true as i really enjoy going to places i have not been to before especially beautiful places like this.
